Backyard Drainage and Landscape Bed Installation

Our team at Brothers Lawn Care recently completed a landscape bed and drainage improvement project designed to solve a backyard that regularly held water after rain.

The first step was addressing the drainage issue. We installed a small French drain system to capture water from the low area of the yard and carry it out toward the tree line beyond the main backyard space, helping reduce standing water.

Once the drainage system was in place, we built a new landscape bed using bullet edgers and Moonlight granite decorative rock. The planting design focused on plants that thrive in high-moisture soil, ensuring the landscape would stay healthy even in an area that naturally retains water.

To add visual interest and tie the space into the existing landscaping around the home, we also installed several large granite boulders in both the new bed and the existing landscape beds around the house. Each of these natural accent stones weighed around 3,000 pounds, creating a bold focal point in the landscape.

The finished project not only improved drainage in the backyard, but also turned a problem area into a functional and attractive landscape feature.
