Why Spin exists
The History of Brothers Lawn Care
SPIN was created to support the single parents in our community who work tirelessly to provide for their families. The heart behind this program comes directly from the story of Brothers Lawn Care.
When Colton and Luke were young, their father unexpectedly passed away. Their mom suddenly found herself raising two boys on her own and doing everything she could to keep life moving forward for their family. Colton was just 11 years old when he decided he wanted to help. Instead of letting his mom worry about the lawn, he grabbed his dad’s mower and took care of it himself.
Not long after, Colton started walking door to door around the neighborhood asking if anyone else needed their lawn mowed. What began as a young boy trying to help his single mom slowly grew into something much bigger. That small act of stepping up eventually turned into a job working for their uncle’s lawn care company through high school, and years later, the start of Brothers Lawn Care.
Because of that experience, Colt and Luke have always carried a deep respect for single parents who sacrifice so much for their families.
Program Rules and Eligibility
Who Can Be Nominated
- • Must be a single parent (widowed, divorced, separated, or sole caregiver)
- • Must live in Holmen, Onalaska, or La Crosse — within 30 minutes of our shop
- • Standard residential property only — no commercial properties, farms, or acreage
- • Cannot be a current Brothers Lawn Care client
- • One win per household per calendar year
- • Self-nominations are welcome
Who Can Nominate
- • Anyone — family members, neighbors, coworkers, church groups, teachers, friends
- • Nominator must provide their own name and phone number (required for verification)
Drawing Schedule
- Drawings are held on the 5th of each month, April through October (7 total per season).
- Winners are contacted within 48 hours of the drawing. If the winner cannot be reached after 3 attempts, a new name is drawn.

Brothers Lawn Care reserves the right to assess all nominated properties in person before
confirming services. Service type, scope, and duration are determined at Brothers’ sole
discretion based on the property assessment. Properties exceeding standard residential size or
requiring specialized equipment may be offered a modified scope of service. Brothers Lawn
Care is not obligated to perform services that exceed the value of a standard residential visit. By
submitting a nomination, you confirm the information provided is accurate to the best of your
knowledge.
